The Right Choice All municipalities in Ontario can enjoy the cost savings and service benefits delivered through membership in OMEX. OMEX offers a full range of insurance products necessary to insure the daily operations inherent in managing an Ontario municipality. As municipal operations are often mandated by statute, OMEX has worked hard to identify those risks to ensure that our policy wordings are as broad as possible to protect the municipality and its employees against claims. We also believe that purchasing an insurance policy is just one facet of controlling the cost of risk. We also assist the municipalities in managing their claims within their deductible. OMEX does this by providing, free of charge, a Claims and Certificate Tracking system (CCS) that allows the OMEX members to track and internally report on their claims using a fully functional claims system. CCS was developed, with OMEX support, by one of our long-standing members, the Regional Municipality of York. It was specifically created by them for municipalities and is only available to OMEX members. Risk management and loss control are also key components of the services we offer. We help our insured municipalities learn valuable lessons from their claims. This can improve policies and operational procedures thereby eliminating or reducing future claims. Education and risk management advice by OMEX staff support our membership in achieving their long-term goal of a stable, cost effective insurance program.
