How OMEX is Staffed  | Linda Boyle, Executive Director Linda has been involved in risk management for over 30 years and specifically municipal risk since 1989. A graduate of Ryerson Institute, Linda spent 17 years with The Cadillac Fairview Corporation Limited -- one of Canada's largest real estate companies. Linda spent several years as a risk management consultant dealing with property owners, financial institutions and with OMEX in its formative years. In 1992, she joined the reciprocal with management responsibility for insurance services including risk management and policy wordings. As the Executive Director for OMEX, Linda is responsible for the management and leadership of the reciprocal and works closely with the Board of Directors and staff to implement the goals outlined in the Strategic Plan. As Attorney in Fact, she represents the members in executing contracts, ensures that the operations of OMEX are in compliance with the Insurance Act and the Subscriber's Agreement, and acts generally as the legal representative of OMEX. Linda is a member of various professional development associations in the insurance and risk management field including ORIMS (Ontario Risk and Insurance Management Society), PRIMA (Public Risk and Insurance Management Association) and the Insurance Institute. | | Carol Bellamy, Director of Claims & Litigation Carol brings to OMEX over 30 years of experience in handling claims at insurance companies, as well as independent adjusting firms. For the past 6 years, Carol managed losses for Zurich Canada including both commerical and municipal claims and since 2006, Carol was Casualty Manager and Manager - Major Case Unit in their Toronto office. Carol's responsibilities at OMEX as Director of Claims & Litigation include the management of all claims for our member municipalities. She works with a team of outside adjusters, lawyers and the municipalities to resolve claims in a cost-effective, efficient manner. She is also responsible for supervising a Claims Administrator. Carol holds the designation of FIIC and AIIC and received an Honors BA from the University of Waterloo. | 
| Bill Bishop, Director of Finance & Administration Bill comes to OMEX with over twenty five years experience in various financial positions within the insurance industry. At OMEX, he is responsible for all aspects of corporate finance including the financial reporting (P&C1) to the Insurance Regulators (Financial Services Commission of Ontario). Bill also responsible for preparation of the Financial Statements, Operating Budget and payroll. He supervises all accounting functions, controls cash flow and oversees the investment portfolio. In addition, he monitors the collection of reinsurance recoveries. Bill liaises with the OMEX Audit Committee to ensure compliance with Board approved Financial Control policies. He also supervises the Office Administrator/Bookkeeper and a contract IT specialist. Bill is a member of CIAA (Canadian Insurance Accountants Association). | 
| Robin McCleave, Director of Risk & Underwriting Robin's career in insurance risk management has spanned over 16 years. Her diverse background includes working for global insurance brokers specializing in large financial institutions, non-profit organizations and municipalities across Canada. She was also employed by the Royal Bank of Canada as Manager of Insurance Risk. As Director of Risk & Underwriting, Robin is primarily responsible for overseeing the provision of risk management and insurance services to OMEX members and ensuring that OMEX adequately responds to the insurance needs of our members. Robin supervises the Risk Manager and Underwriting Specialist. Robin is a member of ORIMS (Ontario Risk and Insurance Management Society), PRIMA (Public Risk and Insurance Management Association) and SPIAO (Society of Public Insurance Administrators of Ontario) and is currently working towards her CRM (Canadian Risk Management designation). | | | 
| Karen Kagayama, Claims Administrator Karen’s career spans over 25 years in the insurance field in various positions within the industry including claims examiner for all lines. She has worked closely with claims adjusters, managing general agents, brokers and underwriters. Most recently she worked at Maltman Group International, an independent Adjusting Firm, with both claims and accounting responsibilities. As claims administrator for OMEX, Karen is responsible for ensuring the efficient flow of claims information, including data entry and file maintenance, as well as organizing claims payments, initiating deductible recoveries and liaising with adjusters and members. | 
| Pamela Benson, Office Administrator & Bookkeeper Pamela has over 25 years experience in business including her role as administrative assistant for Reuters Canada and TIBCO Financial Technology. She was also the owner of her own Esthetic's company for 13 years. Pamela is responsible for OMEX's accounts payable, banking (including bank reconciliations), and deductible recoveries. She also handles all aspects of office administration including purchase of equipment and office supplies, and arranging for equipment maintenance. | 
| Pratheesh Ratnasingam, Underwriting Specialist Prat has been in the insurance industry for several years and prior to joining OMEX was an Intermediate Underwriter for York Fire & Casualty. As Underwriting Specialist, Prat's key responsibilities include being the primary underwriter for OMEX members including maintaining an extensive underwriting data base, responding to requests for Certificates of Insurance and issuing policy documentation. He will also assist in the preparation of quotations for potential new members. Prat is a member of the Canadian Institute for Insurance Professionals and is currently working towards his CIP designation. | 
| Tammy McLaren, Executive Assistant Tammy has joined OMEX in a contract position as Executive Assistant to the Executive Director. For the past 9 years, Tammy has held similar positions in other organizations and brings strong communication and technical skills to OMEX. She is responsible for supporting the Executive Director including arranging Board and Committee meetings, preparing and maintaining Minute Books, assisting in preparations for the Annual General meeting and Board Elections. She also oversees travel arrangements for OMEX staff. Tammy is an honours graduate of the Shaw Business College. |
